Microphone doesn't work when headphones plugged

Hello!
I'm using Linux Mint 17 rebecca.
My hardware : Lenovo G500s
When I plug headphones, my microphone build-in Laptop doesn't work.
I noticed that using Xubuntu before, but in the past it differ from the type of headphones plugged (it was strange too).
But now plugging different headphones doesn't fix the problem temporarly.
Thanks in advance

The audio jack usually supports a combined headphone/microphone. So if you have plugged one it disables the inbuilt one.

So how you explain me why it wasn't disabling my microphone when I plug headphones in Xubuntu or Windows ?
I strongly believe that it's kind of configuration.

run a
Code:
dmesg | tail
in terminal after you plug in your headphones.

Open another terminal and type in
Code:
alsamixer
and make sure the mic does not get muted when you plug the headphones in.

Other than that. We can't reply with vague scenario descriptions.
My sig sentence covers this statement.

Edit. Usually for mic troubleshooting and setup. I use mhwaveedit

Code:
$ apt search mhwaveedit
Sorting... Done
Full Text Search... Done
mhwaveedit/testing 1.4.23-1 i386
Simple and fast GTK2 sound editor
