Metisse compile

Hi. I looked all over the net (twice), and I cant find my mistake. I tried installing every package I could think of, and still nothing works.

When trying to make Metisse, I end up with this error.

Code:
Making all in fb
make[3]: Entering directory `/home/swordfish/Desktop/metisse-0.3.5/xserver/fb'
if gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../../xserver/mi -I../../xserver/render -I../../xserver/include -I../../xlibs/Xfont/include/X11/fonts/ -I../../xlibs/Xau -I../../xserver/include/X11/Xtrans -mmmx -Winline --param inline-unit-growth=10000 --param large-function-growth=10000 -g -O2 -Wall -MT fb24_32.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/fb24_32.Tpo" -c -o fb24_32.o fb24_32.c; \
        then mv -f ".deps/fb24_32.Tpo" ".deps/fb24_32.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/fb24_32.Tpo"; exit 1; fi

any ideas here?

EDIT:
btw... I am on an iBook G4 1.25gb ram, radeon 9200. Ubuntu 6.06, GNOME

I tried looking up what the -mmmx option was, and I can't find anything. I tried installing some other dev compiler libs, but I still cant get it to work.
anybody here have an idea as to what I missed?

what if I looked around and modified the script and simply removed the -mmmx option, so it doesnt use it during compile - is that possible?
and one more question I didnt realize might be the all-powerful answer to my question.......... can Metisse be installed on an iBook? lol I feel kinda retarded knowing that might be the answer
