Metasploit not working

Hello, i installed postgresql and i've been having trouble with metasploit for two weeks now everytime i load metasploit and type 'db_status' or 'db_driver' 'db create' i get command not found and i've been looking around but nothing seems to help and when i type 'load db_postgres' i get

msf > load db_postgres
[-] Failed to load plugin from /opt/metasploit-4.2.0/msf3/plugins/db_postgres: no such file to load -- /opt/metasploit-4.2.0/msf3/plugins/db_postgres

Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks.

Did you install just the framework or the Community Edition?

Did you check it out via subversion or download the installer? ... the installer includes a postgres database

Just realised that the db_driver command is gone in the latest update, the only supported db is postgres so just use db_connect

When you run msfconsole it should tell you how long ago it was updated, if you type '?' the db_ commands will be listed towards the end. If there is no db_driver command then you're probably up to date and will just have to set up a postgres db and use the db_connect command to access it.
