Messed up symbols on Fedora 7

Well, I never thought I'd psot a question on LQ.org, but anyway.
Thi started yesterday as I messed with CVSCedega and Mono from tar. Cedega didn't make install correctly, so I copied the libraries and bins by myself. After that I constated that it didn't work, so I removed everything I copied in and installed the standard yum version of wine.
Later I installed mono from tar (which worked) then libgdiplus from svn, which also worked.

Now, my problem is that when I run even a simple application, an error like this pops up:
Code:
[bazanski@localhost ~]$ eject
eject: /opt/mono-1.2.5.1/lib/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
/usr/sbin/userhelper: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libntdll.so: undefined symbol: wine_main_preload_info
But if I su -, and then run it, it works perfectly.

My question is: What the cowbell happened?

I can't be of much help I suspect, but from what you say about being able to run it after you su (to root) then it seems like you probably have a problem with permissions on a file or directory somewhere. Forgive me if you had already come to that conclusion. I'm sure that there is someone else out there that has had a similar experience. I hope that this has jogged their memory and they can be a bit more specific for you.

Good luck - PAix
