Very experimental.
"We cannot stress enough that this is an experiment. The meshmixer team does not use Linux desktops, and we don't have any experience packaging or distributing Linux apps. We also don't have the resources to guarantee ongoing support for Linux. But we're trying, so please bear with us."

as a longtime Blender and MeshLab user ....................
and as a "died in the wool" RPM based operating system user

a Ubuntu 14 deb is not going to help much

will it run on Debian8 that i have in a KVM

I don't know John, I haven't tried to install it yet since I haven't fired up my old desktop in quite some time. My interest in the package is only peripheral but I thought it might be of interest to our community. I play around with ancient Autocad R14 on XP and TurboCNC in Dos. :-)
