mesa git undefined reference to llvm ...

I can't tell if this is setup error on my part or if this is a genuine bug in mesa that I should report.

llvm and clan are installed from git into /usr/lib64
I don't appear to have orphaned libraries or orphaned include files. I do not have *.pc (pkgconfig) files for clang or llvm anywhere on the system though.

Here is my error when I try to compile:
http://pastebin.com/WSWY3Wyw

So my questions are:
1) is this a bug in mesa git?
2) if it is a fault on my part how do I fix it.

P.S. I did try to look already on the web for a solution but still could not resolve it before I came here.
