Merging folders
Hi friends.

I'm looking for an application that can do this:

I have several bakups and I "merged" them to a large hdd with dirsync pro flawlessly ( a fantastic software).
But I noticed that I have several folders and files repeated within subfolders. For example.

In the main folder I have:

backups/folder"A"/file 1..n

backups/folder"A"/folder"b"/folder"A" (again and almost all its files)

backups/folder"N"/folder"Nb"/folder"A" (again and almost all its files)

And this happens several times. I thing 2/3 of my backups are repeated folders.

So I'd like to find all folders with the same name and merge them into a single "folder "A".."N".

If this is not possible is there a way to find all documents, and put them into a folder, all mp3 into another folders etc??

Clone removers wont works as they hang due to the amount of files..

Thanks for your Advice!!

Im using ubuntu 9.1 and

You could probably use fdupes, find, and some bash scripting to troll through the directories and create one complete backup set. You could probably even do it by filetype.

I solved my problem with this program. It did the job fast and accurately.

Hope this helps someone else.
