mencoder/mplayer won't install on CentOS 5.3 liblzo and libcucul

I am trying to install mplayer/mencoder on my server running x86 CentOS 5.3. Running yum install mplayer tries to get the package from rpmforge and I get this error

Code:
--> Running transaction check

  --> Missing Dependency: libcucul.so.0 is needed by package mplayer-1.0-0.40.rc1try2.el5.rf.i386 (rpmforge)

I have ran and install lzo,lzo-devel, and libcaca which includes libcucul. However, no luck. Any ideas how to get this working?

get a binary mplayer package and simply extract to a folder.. I think i had installed it through .bin package. but yum was creating problems when i tried to update other packages..

like libcucu not found on repos.. I removed..

Cheers!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ doesn't work (I can't post URLs yet). Please try this on a CentOS 5.2 or 5.3 system and report back. Apparently there are quite a few dependencies that aren't mentioned and required. For example:

Missing Dependency: libcucul.so.0 is needed by package mplayer-1.0-0.40.rc1try2.el5.rf.i386 (rpmforge)
Missing Dependency: libdirectfb-1.2.so.0 is needed by package mplayer-1.0-0.40.rc1try2.el5.rf.i386 (rpmforge)
Missing Dependency: liblzo.so.1 is needed by package mplayer-1.0-0.40.rc1try2.el5.rf.i386 (rpmforge)

and about 15-20 other dependencies. Perhaps the CentOS wiki should be updated by someone successful??
