Thanks very much !!!
I also drop into an article only yesterday about TCPMP, and it plays almost all the files i produces with Mencoder!!!
- e.g mencoder vcd://2 -cdrom-device /dev/hdd -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=msmpeg4:mbd=2:trell:vbitrate=100 -vf scale=176:144 -oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=96 -o Test_34.avi
It is just a great player!!!
I will try later to resolve other matters - e.g., there is noise (with very high pitch) intervals at the audiot captured - i thought Mencoder just don't copy the digital data, but capture in analog...
Thanks anyway for your reply. See if there is other experience that we can exchange on Mencoder/ffmpeg etc.
Cheers
Paul

If not I may be able to help as I have used mencoder/ffmpeg/etc a fair bit for recording/converting videos. As for a player for mobile devices My wife has had great success with tcpmp (The Core Pocket Media Player) on her Zire 31. There is a version for Window modile devices and one for smartphones too. You will probably also want to grab some of the codec plugins depending on your needs.
you can find TCPMP here:

Hope this helps,
