Media player that can read DVD videos properly from hard drive?

Hi.
I'm having problems accessing hard drive copied DVD-discs (VIDEO_TS folders) in Linux. None of the players that I've tried them with (gxine, mplayer and VLC) can't seem to be able to open them properly. None of the mentioned players has problems opening the actual DVD disc that I put in my drive - but only Video_TS folders on hard drive.

The content can be viewed if I open the VOB files seperately, but then I lose chapter-controlls, menus etc.

In Windows environment - opening hard disk copied DVDs + gaining full controll of the content was possible by starting the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in the software player. None of the mentioned players in Linux seem to be able loading IFO files. So I'm only forced loading VOB files and that sucks due reasons I stated above.

Please, give me clues...

Thanks in advance!
M.

Nope. It doesn't work at all. And I honestly prefer not using VLC at all - never liked it - on Windows nor on Linux. It only gave me headache.

Try the same command, just replace vlc with mplayer or xine. I know using it to point to ISO files works fine with both players so you'll probably have a win pointing to the ripped directory too.
