Media format converter
 
Just wondering if there was a program that could basically do mp3 to ogg and also vise versa. Thanks up front.

K3b and grip could do it. But, be advised, both mp3 and ogg are 'lossy' formats. Meaning, that some of the sound data is filtered out, as I understand it. Mainly in the frequencies that humans don't hear well. Converting from one lossy format to another can have unexpected results. You'd be better off ripping from cd directly to mp3 or ogg.
The final test is yours to determine. Try converting mp3 to ogg, and vice versa. If the result satisfies you, that's all that matters.

There are some perl scripts around. Try searching for ogg2mp3 or mp32ogg. Here are a couple results:
