Addendum
The mount point changed after changing ownership and reboot.
Still have some individual partitions issues due to different permissions. But in general it works.
A bit confusing but if it works.

You should not need to change the permissions of /dev/md127 and actually /dev only exists in memory so changes made will not exist upon reboot. In linux everything is a file and these special device files are located in /dev. Once the array is mounted you can change the mount point permissions and files directories that are saved to the array.
