Maya on PowerPC


Just curious. Will Maya unlimited for linux run on a PowerPC distro?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm sure it can if you can complile it from source, having the right libraries etc.

Ok, I'm pretty new Linux and I haven't compiled anything "from source". I assume you mean I would need to compile the application from its source code? Is that what you mean? I'm sure I don't know how to do that ;I have friends you could but I'm sure Maya's source code isnt free to download.

I noticed that is only directly supportive of red hat, as far as guaranteeing it will work. Do you think that the app might require an x86 platform?
