Maya 7.0 run error, gcc_4.2.0 not found?

when i try to run maya 7.0, www.alias.com, i get a message stating "/usr/aw/maya/lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)" but there's no gcc 4.2.0 to be found anywhere on the web, how can i fix this? Gcc 4.2 is already installed by the way

Google says:

mv /usr/aw/maya/libgcc_s.so.1 /some-save-location/
mv /usr/aw/maya/libstdc++.so.5.0.6 /some-save-location/
ln -s /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 /usr/aw/maya/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.7 /usr/aw/maya//lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.6
ldconfig

Maya is a very expensive program, don't buy unless you're seriously considering the 3d film and game industry. I personally have a goal to work for pixar, so I bought the program a while back for windows, now i'm just moving everything to linux, at least as much as i can.

Ouch!

Must've broke a tear in your eye when you had hoped for Maya to be able to be wined, no?

The stupid thing is, the Maya Unlimited version cost $5000 dollars extra than the Maya Complete version, unbelievable!

What's worse is that Autodesk ported Maya to Linux, but only the Maya Unlimited version is ported, from the last time I checked the Autodesk website.
