Maximum PArtitions


What is the maximum partitions or Distro's you can have loaded onto one 80gig Hard Drive?

Hi,

Max partitions on 1 physical HD is 16.

My 2 cents.

depends on the type of partition:

using Primary partitions i think 3 or 4 is the max allowed...
you can make as many logical partitions as you want...

do some google searchs for this topic i am sure you will find some information that will help you...

that is a good explaination by Novell, Homey...

i am glad to see corporations jumping in the Linux mix like IBM & Novell, that is something i wish IBM would do is build a distro of thier own, unless IBM wants to install other distros on their products, i would imagine Big Blue runs some custom built flavour of Linux, but i am wanting to see IBM build a more simple desktop/workstation sort of distro like the rest of the consumer - enduser types of distros...

I don't know what Ibm is up to lately, mostly servers I guess. I am happy to see Novell finally get into the desktop os, wish they had done that years ago. Everyone seems to be caught up with Active Directory and LDAP these days but I studied NDS ( Novell 4 ) long before I ever heard of Active Directory.
