Matlab 6.5 problem

Hi,
I have a problem using the Student Version of Matlab 6.5 Release 13.

It runs OK, until I try to plot anything, when the whole program freezes, and I have to open another terminal to kill it, where it must be killed using the -9 switch. (So it really stops responding!)

I start matlab from the terminal, but no error messages are outputed on stderr, so I have no clues on how to fix the problem.

I use Slackware 9.1 with a 2.6.6 kernel.

Can someone help me to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance
