Marvell MSU software

I am running Ubuntu 19.04 installed on a hardware Raid 1 setup using a Startech 4 Port PCI Express 2.0 SATA III 6Gbps RAID Controller Card. Unfortunately the platforms supported are Windows and Mac only, no configuration software is provided for linux. However HP has written configuration software for this Raid Controller card for Red Hat-based operating systems. There is a guy here https://blog.florianheinle.de/raid-c...0-linux-debian who has provided instructions on how to install the rpm package on Ubuntu. The page is in German but Google Chrome translated it for me. I am running into problems on this bit:

Code:
sudo apt-get install equivs
cat <<EOF >> libssl1.0.0.ctl
Section: misc
Priority: optional
Standards-Version: 3.9.2

Package: libssl-1.0.0
Version: 1.0.1
Description: dummy package to install MSU
Marvel Storage Utility requires old libssl version
 .
This is just the fake package to satisfy that dependency
EOF
equivs-build libssl1.0.0.ctl
When I run:

Code:
equivs-build libssl1.0.0.ctl
it returns:

Code:
syntax error in control file: Marvel Storage Utility requires old libssl version
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get past this?

Note that the long description field in the control file (the one under Description) has the following requirements:

Quote:
This should be a paragraph which gives more details about the package. Column 1 of each line should be empty. There must be no blank lines, but you can put a single . (dot) in a column to simulate that. Also, there must be no more than one blank line after the long description.
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/m...n.html#control

Can you confirm that it meets those specifications.
