Manualy installing ARM screen problems

Hey im trying to manualy install "screen" on my NAS . Ive found the package for a NAS http://packages.debian.org/etch/arm/screen/download but im not sure how to manuly install it . When extracted the appplication does run so its for the correct processor but i get

Ive searched for the file and placed the ARM version in /lib and now screen says the file is too short ?

So im stuck any help would be appricated

Example libncursesw5_5.5-5_arm.deb
http://packages.debian.org/etch/arm/...sesw5/download

The shared library, 'libncursesw.so.5.5' is 304.8 KB.
# ln -s libncursesw.so.5.5 libncursesw.so.5
would be the correct setup.

So is this, what you have ? or ?
