This is my first install of Linux. I've read all the posts regarding this error and I know it's something with the xorg.conf. I'm have an IBM T42 and loaded Mandriva LX on an external USB hard drive. The system boots but starts with the command line login. When I run 'kde' or 'startx' I get a long error message like the ones in the other posts with this problem. How do I find out what info to put into the xorg.conf file for this laptop or is there something else that should be done?

I hunted around and found the info that I needed. This post is coming from my Firefox browser running on Mandriva. Thanks for your help.
