Mandriva Linux 2010.1: You are not allowed to start fetchmail

I am trying to start the fetchmail daemon from usermin. I'm assuming that if I start it from there, it will pick up that if the computer is restarted, I want to start it again. If not, I want the daemon to automatically start at bootup, and follow it's schedule.

When I click the button in usermin, it says: Failed to start fetchmail : You are not allowed to start fetchmail. This occurs even with the root user.

I'd programmed it to download mail on bootup, and I beilieve every hour or something like that, the daemon is just not starting to do so.

This is the effect of the e-mail server I am trying to set up:

* From inside the network, you can just send e-mail to the address.

* From outside the network, these e-mail addresses are not accessible, however a user may have "outside access", which is an e-mail account that has POP3 enabled, such as gmail.

* It is the server's job at bootup and every so often to check for new messages via POP3.

I am going through a conversion process right now, where I'm downloading the e-mails from my accounts online, to the local users.
Then I will have to download it onto the client computer(s), using client e-mail software.

I'd used usermin to download the e-mails to the server for now, at least the standard accounts for the network. But it's not keeping up, because it's not following the specified rules to download at bootup and I believe it was about every hour. Please help me program the server to do the specified tasks.

I would say its best to move to a newer distro.

Mageia is now the "replacement" for Mandriva. Mageia 3 is an excellent distro with true Mandriva flavour without all the bugs and problems.
