(Mandriva) Installing Software

Hello guys
Im <New> on Linux, and i wanna know How i can install Software
I downloaded Xmms (Winamp for Linux) and Amsn (Msn for linux )
but i cannot install them
i tryed the ./configure thing, it work, then i try the Install thing, Nothing appear, How i can Install these two software

Please help me !

You can install and compile source code on Mandriva, but Mandrive is an .rpm-based GNU/Linux. You would be better off if you tried to install .rpm packages for Mandriva.
