Mandrake Linux - help needed managing print queues
 

hi....

I have a lan running a mix of windows and linux machines...linux being on Mandrake 9.2. I have configured local printers on few of those linux machines which I am sharing on the network..

Now, whenever I run the Print Manager in Mandrake, or click print in any application, I can see the complete list of all shared printers on all of my linux boxes....

Now I want that whenever a user tries to print a document or tries to print from an application, and also in Print Manager, he should only be able to view the print queue configured for his machine (whether local or remote printer)....

How can I set up display of print queue in the above way ? an early help will be highly appreciated...

Well, is this question that difficult that none of u guys have replied till now ?? I know there r lots of gurus and many mandrake addicts out there who can at least point me in the correct direction...at least I will have something to think about....

I guess its high time a guru jumped in and offered some genuine help...Ok...I think my question might have got many of u confused...anyways, let me try to explain my issue more clearly...

1. I have a mix of mandrake linux and windows 98/2000 machines..

2. Many of those linux machines have a local printer configured on them and few of them have a samba printer configured.

3. Whenever I access the Print Manager on any of those linux machines, I can see all the print queues configured on all the linux machines....

Now, I want to manage these queues in a way so that every linux machine user should see only the printer which I have configured for his local machine and the rest of them should be hidden from view. This should apply to all linux machines on the network...

How should this be done ? Has anyone done something exactly same/similar/close to what I am wanting to do here ?? Pls suggest.....I need some urgent help here...Thanx
