Need forum help please.

Very successful first time install of Linux using Mandrake and KDE. BUT..... on any menu or pull down, text of prior menu mixes with new menu or pull down to make menu unreadable. At that point, have to minimize and then restore each time a pull down or menu is changed.

Tried different themes...no change.

Can not change opaque or translucent features under any theme.

Have HP OB800CT with 265 color .... is this the problem? PC works well with windows 2000.

I think this probably has a simple solution but I have been trying for 3 days.

All suggestions are appreciated from the forum experts.

To all,

Switched the Linux hard drive to an identical PC except it had a 16bit video adapter capability.

Voila! Beautiful now. My suspected problem (265 colors) was correct and congratulations to self are in order.
