Mandrake 9 - Login as Root?

n00b question

I have just upgraded to mandrake 9 from 8.1. The thing that troubling me is that I cant see anyway to log in as root. The login screen only shows me my standard account, but no where to type root as the username or select it.

EDIT: Dont worry, I just found the answer by using the search function, which I should have done first. Thnx anyway

Welcome to LQ

This is the new default way of doing things. I am assuming they did this to discourage the use of root in a gui environment of his own as most applications needing root's priv's will pop up a box for root's pass. You can also su - in a terminal to get to root. I personally think it was a great idea...

However, in your Control Panel you should find the ability to remove this with the Login Manager Controls.

Cool
