mandrake 9.1 locks at "install updates"

HI ALL,, I downed linux 9.1 ISO's(3) a couple months ago,, and since then I have tryed installing the burned CD's onto,, about 10 differents PC's/monitors,,I done the MD5sum routine on the three cd's the first time i done an install..and all three checked out fine that way. Now, Every install goes fine _untill_,, it is complete and I get to the "install updates" screen. There the mouse freezes ,,and all i can do is restart/power off.It makes no diff i select update,or do not update>button<. After the restart of the PC,, i get momentarily a GUI logon(blinks),, but then drops out to text mode.. Im trying to figure if I got a corrupt download/ISO.. ? Or,, is this a known problem, on mdk 9.1? Im not into linux heavy enough to be abreast of these quirks,,IF,,thats what it is with 9.1..Any info appreciated... Barry
