Mandrake 9.1 Fonts

Let me get this point out of the way:

1. I'm a Linux newbie. I know just enough to be dangerous, which in Linux boils down to just about nothing.

I've managed to get Mandrake 9.1 up and running, network and sound even on my Nforce 2 motherboard. I have a question about how to get fonts working properly in Mozilla. I've installed Mozilla 1.5a. I've copied all the .ttf fonts from my Windows partition to the X server fonts location of: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF.

The Mandrake font tool shows them as installed and they are visible in OpenOffice and the like. I can't however select them in the "Fonts" section of the Apperance properties in Mozilla, they don't show up.

If someone could tell me how to fix this it would go a long way to securing another Linux user.

Thanks,

Celeron

yes ive gotten that too celeron... i think it goes something like this.. theres difffent "types" of fonts.. like monospace or whatever and there some others too.. and i think mozilla and other things take a certain type only excluding other types.. ive seen it somewhere in the menus/settings.. like theres 3 types of fonts you set for like default fonts.. for 2 of them the options are like huge.. [cuz i imported my windows fonts to linux too..] but then 1 of them.. [i forgot what type..] but they all looked ugly had like only a few fonts like terminal and courier new and stuff.. :/ i guess thast what your getting too on that limited list of fonts? im not too SURE about that though.. but i think so celeron! anyways,, good luck mate!!! could you tell me what fonts you see in your mozilla section so i could doublecheck to make sure my theory is true.. i could be wrong...
