mandrake 9.0 no installing...

yo! sup?
Newbie here...


Mandrake 9.0 don't install...
boot from the CDROM, and then press enter...and loading...blah blah blah...
when it reaches
partition checking:
hdb

nothing happens...i waited for like 3-4 minutes n nothing happened...ive installed fedora core 1 & Red Hat 9.0 before, but this is a weird error for me...and my comp is a p4 2.0 GHZ so it can't be like slow right?
