Mandrake 8.2 install on second drive

I'm running Windows XP on one 20 gig drive.
I want to install mandrake on my other 4 gig drive.

I use to run Redhat 7.2. and I would pop in my floppy and it would boot my Redhat and then if I wanted to go to Windows I would remove the floppy and re-boot and Windows would start.

In my Redhat install I was able to select no-boot installer.

Can I basically do the same with Mandrake? Use a boot floppy disk to boot linux or do I have to have a boot loader.

How do I install Mandrake if I want one hard drive to run windows xp and the other to run Mandrake?

What settings do I use?

Thank you

I don't know if the install changed much from 8.1->8.2. Probably not, so in case you'd wanna select expert install (not what it sounds like, no worries) and when it gets to the bootloader section, choose not to install one. I believe that the normal install, installs it automatically. You'll be given a chance to create a boot disk so you can use that.

yes, it's no problem really. there are lots of questions about dualbooting with xp on here, have a search....

generally tho, mandrake will probably do a slightly better job than redhat with dualboots and stuff. all i'd suggest, as i ususally do, is that you actually DO install a boot loader, but actually swap around the two drives, with xp on the second drive. This means that the boot loader would not be on the windows drive, and so would leave that drive totaly alone.
