Exclamation Mandrake 8.1 and USR 5610

Greetings all,

I am a 44 year old with enough curiousity and dislike of a one OS world to dabble with Linux. I have been playing with 8.1 on a 233 box and dealing with the learning curve while dealing with Windows at work with staff that have almost adequate knowledge of that OS and at home with kids who don't want to mess up anything that doesn't have a hundred IM programs...

After putting together a new box just for Linux, I got a USR 5610 as I understood it was supported by Mandrake 8.1.

Sure enough, I installed 8.1 and it recognized the modem.

Had to go to Linuxconfig to hook up the modem to the correct serial port and it is operational.

Still, when I run Harddrake the modem shows up with "Kernal Module: unknown"

Any ideas??

Currently running Mandrake 8.1 on an Iwill board with an AMD Athalon (~1.2GB) 256 DDR
