I have a Micron PC with a small SCSI hard drive which is full. I added a 13 GB hard drive (as IDE secondary slave; CD ROM is master)onto which I have insalled Mandrake 7.2.
After the install, I had to make a floppy disk to boot (Wouldn't boot from LILO). During the boot process, I seems to detect all the drives and hardware until I get to VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly change_root: old root has d_count=1 Trying to unmountold root .... okay Freeing unused kernel memory: 128k freed INIT: version 2.78 booting Enter runlevel: If I enter a value (say 5) here, i get a message INIT: Entering runlevel: 5 INIT: no more processes at left in this runlevel and the pc just hangs. Sorry this is long... any help would be appreciated. |
SCSI and IDE Harddisks
Maybe its the BIOS or maybe I am an idiot.. but I have NEVER been able to get IDE and SCSI harddrives working together in the same box. Not with ANY operating system.
