Exclamation Mandrake 10.0 Laptop Won't Boot Past "Activating Swap Partitions"?

I have a new high end laptop from Compaq and I have tried to install Mandrake 10.0 on it but when I got to boot the computer it stops once it gets to where it says "Avtivating Swap Partitions"! But that line says [OK]! Any Ideas? Until I figure it out I am useing Windows ...
Thanks Much...
