Making images paler with ImageMagick
Hi guys.
I'm trying to use ImageMagick to reduce the levels of colour in an image, so I can use it as a watermark in a website. All I need to do is make it really pale.
I've been trying to use -colorize but I can't get it right!
Can anyone help me please?
Regards,
Matt

Perhaps use the -modulate option? Decreasing saturation and increasing value (brightness) should achieve what you're after. Something like -modulate 150,10. Reducing contrast might help too: +contrast (perversely, +contrast reduces contrast, -contrast increases it). The manual page for ImageMagick has a lot of other options, too - check it out.

Aha! I thought I was barking up the wrong tree.
That worked a treat. Thanks!
