making an rdiff-backup directory

I am trying to use Keep for backup, after heretofore simply copying the files to be backed up. It says there is no rdiff-backup directory in the specified location (my backup HD), and forcing a backup anyway could overwrite what is there. How do I make a rdiff-backup directory? My Keep manual is blank; it says there is no documentation.

Hi

I never used "Keep", but I've used rdiff-backup for a long time. It expects the target directory to either not exist, or to be a valid rdiff-backup directory from a previous backup.

In older versions, if you specify an existing directory for target (even if it's empty), rdiff-backup will give that warning. In newer versions you don't get the warning if the target directory is empty.
