making a dockapp, or an independent panel in kde (pretty complicated)
Hi, I'm having kind of a complicated problem.
I want to make a second panel in kde so I should have 1 on top with open windows & one on the botom with icons (shortcuts) now the problem is I want the one on the bottom to be transparrant (exept for the icons on it) and when I go to the settings & make it transparrant, the panel above becomes transparrant as well... So I need an independent panel. I'm open for any (onorthodox :P) suggestion, workaround. I was thinking of making a dockapp for this, but I think thats to hard for me, because I don't have a clue how to make this. So if you have a different solution, let me hear it. or if you can help me how to make a dockapp for this, just say it :) tnx in advance! here is something so you would understand me --> I want to make this (this made in gnome) for kde --> http://users.telenet.be/oldsko0l/screen.jpg |
I'm not sure your final destination desktop is what, why not go to check kxdocker? Probably it can give you better effect (It is transparent)

I'm using beryl, but as you can see when it is off it doesn't work either... do I have to change something in my xorg.conf to make it transparrant?
