make modules_install problem

I tried to compile a kernel
i did:
make xconfig
make clean
make bzImage
make modules

but when i did
make modules_install
i got
"if [ -r System.map ]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map 2.6.7; fi"

can someone help me with this problem?

thats normal, its a command not an error

dou you (or someone) know how to proceed compiling the kenrel after this?

your done compiling if you built the image (bzImage) and modules and installed the modules.

Now you just gotta install it, edit your bootloader, and reboot.
