make, make install not found Suse 9.1
I had some troubles getting kinternet to work in Suse 9.1 earlier, and I have yet to resolve the problem, but I think it's because I lack the proper drivers. I tried all the RPM files, and they failed, so now I'm trying the tar.gz
When I went to install it in the console, I typed "make install" and it returned "Make: command not found"
I checked the /bin and /root/bin(which is completely empty) and I don't have make, make install, or ./configure.
If anyone could help...

My guess is you have the Personal edition - it doesn't come with the development packages. Just go to the SuSE site and download them.
p.s. If you use konqueror to ftp their site it will install them for you, but only worth doing with broadband etc.

Mmm... can't find any packages in there. There was one called make-380-...rpm but it didn't help. Know the specifics?

Do you have a good internet connection?
Add a SuSE server to your installation sources.
Yast -> Software -> Change Source of Installation -> Add -> FTP
server: ftp.suse.com (or mirror
directory: pub/suse/i386/9.1
Install software the usual way, using Yast.

Did you read the first post? All of this came from me not being able to connect.

Yes, but obviously not careful enought. Sorry for that.
But in this case you would do better to buy/copy a Pro version. It could be a very long list of files with significant size, depending on the requirements of your drivers.
But for rpm packages of make, gcc, glibc and glibc-devel have a look in the subdirectory pub/suse/i386/9.1/suse/i586 of the above mentioned server.

Sorry, the next is cheap, but I cannot avoid this:
Did you read my last post? make, gcc, glibc and glibc-devel makes four, not three
What's the output of which make?
Please be a little more detailed with your error messages.
