Make Fedora look like Unbuntu ...
Good afternoon,
I am running Fedora 33. I have installed Steam to play a specific game, unfortunately that game will only play on Ubuntu with Unity, Gnome or KDE desktop. Replacing my current OS is not an option. I am wondering if there is a way to install Ubuntu and then run it in a it's own window within Fedora? Thank you for any help. |
Yes, you can, say, install Ubuntu in a Docker, but that's probably not the best setup for gaming.
It is extremely unlikely that any game would only play on "Ubuntu". Name the game. |
The game is WGT and the error is 'An error occurred while updating WGT Golf (invalid platform)'.
|
that means the game detected your OS and did not like it

WGT Golf is listed in the ProtonDB. Have you enabled Proton in the Steam client settings? |
Thanks for the tip. I have enabled proton 6.3, but everytime I launch there is the dreaded "invalid app configuration" error. I get the same error when trying to launch WGT. I have been looking for solutions, but have not yet had one that worked.
