"Make command doesn't work!!!
I was trying to install CDrecord 2.00.3 and in the readme it said to use the command cp Gmake.linux /usr/bin to install Gmake as the gnu make wouldn't compile it correctly. I did that and now when I type "make" , "make clean", "make install" nothing happens. Does anyone know what exactly I have done? And how the heck I undo it.
Just to confirm as I am an decidedly stupid in all this, I should be in a console, type xterm, go to the directory where the make file is, and it should do it, right? I got CDrecord 1.9 to work by installing it using YAST2 in SUSE 7.1 but I can't install Xcdroast 0.98 which was the whole point of the exercise. I should mention I am new at this. Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Thanks :newbie: |
try to locage gmake, maybe the new make command is gmake, but don't know really, only speculating :D

I figured it out
Thanks for the suggestion, I actually managed to figure it out. Somewhere in my 5 hours of trying to figure out what I did I uninstalled the make command. Ooops
Anyway, thanks. :) |
