Make an Apache2 Login page?

Hi there

I'm not quite sure what i should be tossing into google in order to get my answer.

I want to setup apache2 so i can have a home page to which users can login to (as most websites have, such as this one). THEN upon logging in the user can access their files and upload/download items. Sort of like a flash ftp service?

I know the basics of apache2 as i have setup a static website on it before. However I'm not sure what i should be learning/integrating next?

well you will need a CMS
i like GeekLog , and used it for many years
but it is not hard to just use a static html page with the Apache "mod_auth " digest set .
