Main menu Items Dissapears??

I am using Mandrake 9.2 Download Edition. It is sometime ouccurs with me that when I install a software from packege Installer the main menu Items Dissapears. For Example I installed "mathplot" and "chemtool" but after installation, almost all the option of main menu dissapears and only very few are present there. All program are running normally. e-g The MULTIMEDIA section is not present now but when I write xmms in "Run Application" (which is present) it runs XMMS.
This problem occures sometime after installation of software.
Can any one tell me what is problem and how it can be solved?

Fire up a console, then use:

update-menus -v

That's a very common problem with MDK 9.2
