I have been using mailx on my bsd box to check system mail for a while now, and occasionally use it to send something from the command line. When I went and looked at the linux version it has a lot more options and bells and whistles.
I have read through the man page, which seems very comprehensive, but I am struggling to get imap working. I have imap working with pine, so I know that it works, and it seems fairly straight forward. Here is my ~/.mailxrc file
set imap-use-starttls
set imap-auth=login
account warwickmail {
set folder=imaps://me@myimapmail.warwick.ac.uk:993/INBOX
set record=+Sent MBOX=+mbox outfolder
set smtp=mail-relay.warwick.ac.uk
}
When I think type "mailx -A warwickmail" it comes back saying "Account warwickmail does not exist." I am sure there is something simple I am missing but I cannot seem to find it. Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks
David

I advise editing your post to remove your username on the mail system you're using. Advertising such things is just generally bad practice. Also a violation of part 3 (e) of the Uni's regulations regarding use of computing facilities, but don't worry, I won't tell 'em.

oops! Its ok, this particular IT services is so bad that it is surprising that I actually have mail that I can collect from them!
Thanks that did it, I knew it would be somethings simple. So much easier to setup than pine!
