i am searching for the following:

xwindows e-mail client for a stand alone pc.

problem is:

using evolution under gnome does not contact the internet itself.

sollution was to create a cron job.
but i do not like that very much.

does anyone have a sollution so that sendmail is connecting as it has new mail (or any better idea, as this would cause a lot of dial in ?)
