mailing management software
Hello,
iīm looking for a mailing managemente sofware that allows to track the mails send to the lists. I want to know how many people have opened the mail and if itīs possible how many people have accessed to a link in the message. I wonīt mind if the software is free or if i have to pay. Please, Does anybody know some software that has my requirements ? Regards and thank you in advance. |
There's no standard that would let you implement #1, and #2 can
only be achieved by sending personalised links and checking for the hits on the web server. Cheers, Tink |
Thanks Tinkster.
I have found a software program that fits with my requirements, although itīs a bit expensive... http://fireblast.sumeffect.com/ If someone knows anything else, please tell me. Regards. |
Try their demo - you may well find that it only registers links to your own site, etc.
Aside from this and the read receipts, most mailing list packages will work nicely - check out mailman or majordomo |
We have tried both, majordomo, mailman, sympa, etc...
I had to install them several times for some customers, but it doesnīt fit with these requirementes, i canīt get statistics about the number of receipts that have opened the mail or the number of times that a link has been opened. Iīve already installed the demo and it works perfectly. It allows to extract statistics about i want. Iīm going to buy if someone tells me about another fantastic program :) Regards and thank you very much ! |

Unless they divulge *how* they claim to achieve the clicked-on bit I don't believe this for a second. As I said: there's no RFC that would allow for checking of whether or not mail has been opened. And even in the clients that have such extensions (Outlook for instance, or KMail) it's at the users discretion to permit auto-responses of that sort. The only way to get a handle on that is if you not only maintain the mailing-lists but also have all participants mail-boxes local to their server machine and are offering mail up via IMAP. Cheers, Tink |
