Mail Takes Hours To Arrive

I'm running php-nuke on Fedora Core 2. Everytime a new user wants register at the portal, he or she never gets the confirmation email sends by php-nuke. Only once did it get to send which is my to my gmail account but it arrived 8 hours later.

Does the latest Fedora installation comes with sendmail properly configured? I did the steps as told by a Linux Journal article on configuring sendmail even added a "DSsmtp.comcast.net" in sendmail.cf.

Hope someone here could help me out.
