Mail Servers

Okay,
I would like to run my own mailserver, or at least try.

Ive been a bad boy and used MailEnable on windows, if you've used it you know its very easy to use and self-sufficient. It allows to make new users and mailboxes without adding users to the system. Is there a program like this for linux? or another simple email server?

Thanks
-Matt

Well, I don't think your going to really get that point in click like in Windows.

Most will tell you postfix or qmail is or are the more simple one's to get working. Sendmail is usually installed by default on just about any Linux distro and its a "beast" as its not as friendly as any other.

I like a combination of courier-imap and qmail that way you can store all your user details in one database. You can use a program like ldapbrowser which is Java based to administer the server from a range of client systems.
