Mail Servers...

Okay, I'm still kind of a newbie, I have figured out how to setup my DNS server and i want to setup a mail server.

But I have one problem with the way Sendmail (i think) seems to work

If i got the jist of it, sendmail uses the linux server users? so if I want orders@domain1.com and orders@domain2.com how can I set that up? I heard in a #linux IRC chat that Postfix did that, but I do not really trust those IRC chats :D. I do not want to have to create a new user for each email address. I only want to have to setup users for each site, because i dont want the confusion of having 100 users.

Will postfix do this for me? I have my Linux bible handy, and it seems to explain pretty well. Or is there another tool I can use?

Thanks in advanced :)

guy, what exactly do you want to use postfix or sendmail?
Those are two different MTA, if you want to setup postfix, sorry i don't know about postfix, but if you to use sendmail maybe i still can help you (hope so)

Well im trying to decide what I want to use.

I dont want to have to mess with my linux users to setup new mail accounts.

Im just asking if postfix does that or if I need something else

Postfix is a powerful MTA with security coded in mind ... which is different from sendmail & co...

You do not require linux users for 2 email addresses, you can map those 2 to 1 account (which does not have to be a linux user; just a mailspool or maildir).
