I have this friend who is looking for a mail server that has the same functionality ("something that offers the complete shared calendering and contacts with scheduleing and task assignment") as M$ Exchange. Thinking about e-mail clients like thunderbird and Kontact, I figure that there must be a server backend that is capable of the same thing. If anyone could help with this, please let me know, for my own knowledge and the knowledge base of the other LinuxQuestions users.
update: I found one option called Kolab that works very much like Exchange. Whether or not it will provide exactly what my friend is looking for will need to be seen.
Thanks. I'll be sure to tell him about those two options. I think, however, that he wants to go the route of free beer, know what I mean? I'll let him know just the same.
