mail server


i know this is a real noob question, but i still need some form of guidance. i'm not sure were to start looking. i want to set my webserver up so it also functions as a mail server. i want to be able to receive mail at (myname)@(myurl).com is there a tutorial that would get me started? possibly a name of the software that is available to me to do this. i'm running redhat enterprise as v4 u4.

I recommend either Posfix or Sendmail. Postfix is far more easier to setup and easier to integrate with complex systems involving virus, spam scanning and other modules. As for walkthroughs you want to go to the websites http://www.postfix.org/ or http://www.sendmail.org/ respectively, but I used http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/ for my first Sendmail setup.

Sendmail should be installed onto your server by default.
