Mail qundrary

I have two red hat linux boxes with identical versions of software. One acts correctly as a sendmail client (referring mail to a relay at 192.168.1.50) and the other one doesn't.

The contents of the editable files in /etc/mail are the same - anybody any ideas what the differences may be ?

more info is required to solve,

chances that it's not related to the mail server config at all , it could be for instance a firewall or routing problem

first off , what mail server are you actually using ?

I solved the issue (indirectly) by editing the 'SMART_HOST' option sendmail.mc file in /etc/mail. Why one works and not the other I still don't know however.
