I use two Mail networks (autistici.org and riseup.net) which lets me create aliases and use them to send e-Mail, but KMail doesn't have that functionality.
Is there any Mail software that allows me to use my other aliases? It must not be directly related to GNOME, however it could use it's icons or somethings like that.
As I was reading, I wanted to check thunderbird version on this machine (windows 7, and it's v31.7), and it was in the process of downloading an update, now it says restart to update. So someone somewhere (I assume Mozilla) is providing updates. I don't recall hearing anything about tbird being discontinued, I hope it's not being discontinued, it's been my business mail client for 5 years or so.
Thunderbird is still supported. What happened was that Mozilla announced that they would cease new development beyond security updates, but I think that might have changed.
Mail clients that I've used that support multiple identities:
Sylpheed/Claws (which is a nice piece of work)
Opera Mail (which I used for years, but use no more because I don't like the direction in which Opera is now headed)
Seamonkey Mail (my current GUI mail client)
Mutt (which I quite like, but it takes a little twisting to get multiple identities working)
Kmail
Evolution (which should have been put out of its misery long ago)
Amarildo,
i use a similar setup (the "From" identity differs from the physical email-address) and at least sylpheed, claws, thunderbird, seamonkey support that. none of which use gnome icons, afaik.
